“Our government continues to implement measures that help sharpen Canada’s competitiveness, productivity, and capacity for innovation, while creating jobs, growth and long-term prosperity,” said Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification.
SIAST will work directly with small- and medium-sized enterprises to develop biotechnologies while offering students specialized training.
“Applied research at SIAST leverages faculty expertise to test new ideas. It encourages the commercialization of technology, and it provides contemporary learning opportunities for students,” said SIAST CEO Larry Rosia.
SBARC will perform product development activities and analysis in the areas of agricultural biotechnology, bioproducts, environment and biomedicine.
