A 911 call was placed shortly after midnight early Sunday morning for shots fired inside and outside a reception hall at the intersection of Jarry Street and Parkway Boulevard.

Montreal police spokesperson Const. Caroline Chèvrefils said that authorities found four victims on the scene: three men aged 25, 31 and 32 and a 31-year-old woman.

All four victims were rushed to hospital where the 31-year-old man died overnight from his injuries, police say.

The 32-year-old man and 31-year-old woman are still in hospital with serious injuries but police say are in stable condition.

The 25-year-old man has since been released with minor injuries.

Melissa Trombetta, a woman who was at the reception hall party, told Global News that the event was a baby shower celebration with many young children in attendance. She said she left before the shooting occurred.
