A unique women’s shelter that focuses on meeting the needs of immigrant women and new Canadians held a grand opening on Monday morning in Edmonton.
WIN House III is the only shelter in Canada that is dedicated exclusively to the needs of immigrant women, and helps the women overcome many barriers that they would have in a mainstream shelter.
Rona Ambrose, Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Minister for Status of Women, and Edmonton – Decore MLA Janice Sarich joined the announcement of the opening of WIN III Monday morning.
The project is a partnership between both WIN House and Changing Together – A Centre for Immigrant Women.
