Two men killed in separate rollovers

Winnipeg  – A rollover in southern Manitoba Friday morning caused the death of one man and sent two others to hospital.

Crystal City RCMP say a Dodge pick-up truck was heading west at 5:30 a.m. on Highway 23, one kilometre east of Highway 34, when it rolled at least once. Three occupants, all men, were ejected from the vehicle.

One man was pronounced dead on scene. Two men were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. The cause is under investigation.

The collision occurred approximately 25 kilometres north of Pilot Mound, MB.

Rollover kills Irishman

A man is dead after rolling his pick-up truck west of Winnipeg.

Headingley RCMP said the man was driving north on Provincial Road 424 just before noon Thursday when he lost control and rolled his truck.

The man was ejected from the vehicle, which was found on its side approximately 1.5 kilometres north of Springstein.

The 28-year-old from County Cork, Ireland was taken to Winnipeg hospital but died of his injuries roughly three hours later. His name is not being released.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol is not considered a factor.

It’s not known why the victim lost control while driving.
