One man is dead after a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.
The 28-year-old was a passenger in the car when the driver reportedly lost control and rolled the vehicle at least once.
The driver, a 24-year-old woman, is being treated for non life-thretening injuries.
Police say around 4 a.m. the car stopped, but then drove away during a traffic check on Kenaston Boulevard near Academy Road.
Shortly after, officers discovered the car sitting upside down near Century Street and Silver Avenue. Police say speed is considered a factor in the collision.
Family confirmed to Global News that the man killed in the crash was 28-year-old Jerome Bender of Winnipeg.
Police shut down northbound Route 90 at St. Matthews Avenue for several hours to investigate.
