If you’re looking for a way to entertain the kids between the egg hunt and the big dinner, the Tropical Fish Show might be the thing for you.
The splashy event is held by the Aquarium Society of Winnipeg this weekend.
You can check out the winners in different categories, including theme aquarium. Some of the entries in that category included a Smurt aquarium and a Twilight aquarium.
The winners in each category are marked by a red ribbon.
“There are books written about how to condition your fish for the show: how to make them grow to right way and have the brightest colours and the nicest fins; how to make it so when you walk up to a tank they swim up to you and that’s major points with the judges,” said Chelsea Hermus, communications director for the Aquarium Society of Winnipeg.
The show also features an auction, tropical fish seminars, a coloring contest and a children’s aquarist course.
Admission is free. The Tropical Fish Show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Canad Inns Polo Park.
