In a statement on Friday, the police service said the homeowner of a residence in the 1-100 block of Meadowlands Drive called 911 after a bullet hole had been found inside.

A spokesperson for short-term rental platform Airbnb confirmed in a statement that the home in question is listed on its site.

“The reported violence is abhorrent and has no place in the Airbnb community,” the statement said.

“We have removed the booking guest, are working to fully support the host through our $1 million Host Guarantee and have proactively reached out to Ottawa Police Services to offer our support in their investigation.”

Police said officers also found a shell casing outside the home.
