A fog advisory was lifted across Alberta on Friday, but a freezing rain warning was issued for parts of Alberta.
Environment Canada issued the warning for parts of northern Alberta at around 10:30 a.m. At around 4 p.m., parts of central-east Alberta were included in the warning.
The weather agency reminded drivers to slow down in slippery conditions and to watch for taillights ahead.
“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”
The fog advisory was issued Thursday night after Environment Canada warned residents that “near-zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring.”
“Dense fog has formed, and is expected to remain until Friday morning,” the weather agency said on its website. “Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.
“If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility.”
A fog advisory was in effect in a number of areas in central Alberta on Thursday night.
