FREDERICTON – A group of health care workers confronted New Brunswick Premier David Alward today outside the legislature, protesting his government’s cuts to the health care system.
Kevin Driscoll, a nursing unit clerk at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, told Alward that cutting frontline staff will affect services, saying the government hasn’t consulted with those employees.

Norma Robinson, president of the New Brunswick Council of Hospital Unions, says people won’t stand for further cuts in health care services.
But Alward defended his government’s decision, telling the protesters that the government has started cutting from the top by reducing the number of senior people.
