Two Edmonton bands in running for best new group at Junos

Juno nominations were announced Wedneday morning, and two bands from Edmonton are in the running for the "best new group" award. Ten Second Epic and Stereos will have to wait until Sunday, April 18 in St. John’s, Newfoundland to see who’s number one.

Ten Second Epic formed in 2001. The band released their third full length album in 2009. Stereos were signed by Universal Music after appearing on the Much Music show disBAND. They released their first album last fall. In addition to being nominated for best new group, Stereos is also up for the pop album of the year award.

Other local nominiations include Corb Lund’s Losin’ Lately Gambler in the roots and traditional album: solo category and Edmonton’s Shiloh for new artist of the year.
