Police say the body had obvious signs of injury.

“Upon our arrival, our initial investigators did an examination and determined that it was definitely a deceased male, that was confirmed by EMS,” says Inspector Joel Whittaker, Edmonton Police Service.

Crime scene investigators are working to determine how long the body had been in the area before it was discovered.

An autopsy was conducted on the body Friday morning.
