EDMONTON – Police have arrested and charged another man in connection with the death of 42 year-old Daniel Edward Barata in north Edmonton earlier this week.
Barata died after being stabbed in a fight that spilled out into the street from a home in the area of 129 Avenue and 64 Street just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday.
The next day, 28 year-old Byron Crane was charged with second degree murder. And now, Kevin Charles Witchekan, 29, has also been charged with the same crime, as well as robbery, and other offences. Witchekan is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Barata’s death is Edmonton’s 8th homicide of 2012.
