Teen killed in RM of Birch Hills, Sask. rollover

A teen was killed in a rollover over the Thanksgiving Day long weekend.

Parkland Ambulance said it was called to the crash near Coxby Road in the rural municipality (RM) of Birch Hills at roughly 2:45 p.m. on Sunday.

The 14-year-old teen, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene. Police are not releasing his name.

The driver was taken to hospital and is in stable condition, a Parkland Ambulance spokesperson said.

Prince Albert RCMP said alcohol was not a factor in the rollover.

No other details have been released as police continue to investigate.

The RM of Birch Hills is located 33 kilometres southeast of Prince Albert and 59 km northwest of Melfort, according to its website.
