The spring melt has hit Alaska causing chunks of ice to crash as high as 15 metres up the river shoreline in at least one area.
A video posted on YouTube, on May 26, shows a massive tide of ice from the Kuskokwim River ramming ashore in a matter of seconds.
A flood watch remains in effect for low-lying areas along in the Kuskokwim Delta, in southern Alaska, until Friday.
Water levels of the Kuskokwim and Yukon rivers have dropped, as ice jams have broken up.
A similar event in Ochre Beach, Man. earlier this month damaged 22 homes and cottages, when strong winds blew mounds of ice ashore from Dauphin Lake.
