EDMONTON – Edmonton’s Terra Centre is putting out a plea to the public so that they can continue helping their teen clients through the summer.
Terra needs approximately $5,000 worth of diapers, sizes three through six, to help the young parents they serve until their next diaper drive that’s being held in September.
Since their last diaper drive last October, Terra has found the need for diapers among teen parents in Edmonton has increased.
“With over 80 per cent of the young parents we serve living in poverty, most young parents are on an extremely tight budget, and we don’t want them to have to choose between paying rent and buying diapers for their children,” says Angie McConnell, Communicaons Coordinator for the Terra Centre. ”But it is a reality most teen moms and teen dads face.”
Terra Centre is accepting donations of diapers or cash donations. For more information, call 780-428-3772.
