Southwest house fire kills family pet

Fire broke out in a Bridlewood home, killing one dog. Global News

CALGARY- A house fire in the southwest community of Bridlewood left one dog dead on Friday morning.

Fire crews were called to a home in the 100 block of Bridlewood Avenue around 11 a.m. for reports of a fire in the basement.

They were quickly able to contain the blaze and keep it from spreading to neighbouring homes.

Two residents- a 20-year-old and 15-year-old- and a dog made it out safely, but sadly, another dog did not survive. The parents who live in the home are currently out of town.

Officials are working to determine what sparked the fire.
