KELOWNA — RCMP are investigating a small structure fire near downtown Kelowna.
Fire crews got a 911 call shortly after 5:30 a.m. Thursday of a house on fire at 754 Lawson Avenue – off Richter.
Flames and smoke were coming from the side of the residence when crews arrived.
“It appeared to be a large cedar hedge on fire that was next to the building,” says Platoon Captain, John Kelly.
He says damage was contained to the exterior of the house and that the cause is unknown.
There were no injuries.
RCMP were out canvassing the neighbourhood Thursday. They say they’re treating the incident as arson.
