MONTREAL – The Société du Transport de Montréal has confirmed that the Montreal’s entire metro system is back on track after it ground to a halt just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
The service disruption affected all four lines and the problem was attributed to an IT failure.

A similar computer failure caused a service shut down on all lines for about 50 minutes on April 2. On 13 March, another computer failure also caused a service interruption on all lines.
In April, the STM president Michel Labrecque blamed the failure of the network on a new computer system. “In the first year of a new computer system, there are bugs, and we are trying to find patches to fix them,” he said.
