A man who showed up at a hospital in southern Alberta on Tuesday suffering from amnesia has been identified.
Police in Lethbridge issued a public plea for help as they worked to identify the man.
Police said he arrived at the Chinook Regional Hospital wet and covered in mud. He told staff he fell off his bike in the river valley but couldn’t remember his name.

The man, who appeared to be in his 60s, was wearing cycling attire and a blue water bladder backpack. He didn’t have any IDs and didn’t match the description of any missing persons reported in the area.
Hours later, police issued an updated news release saying the mystery man had been identified and was “safely under the care of medical staff and family.”
