Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm warnings for parts of Sturgeon County at 7:13 p.m. on Monday night.
The weather agency said its “meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel-sized hail and heavy rain.”
At 7:20 p.m., a severe thunderstorm warning was also issued for parts of the Municipal District of Greenview and at 7:34 p.m., the same warning was issued for parts of Beaver County.
At 7:52 p.m., Environment Canada lifted the warning for Sturgeon County.
At 7:55 p.m., severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for Elk Island National Park and for parts of Fort Saskatchewan, Strathcona County and Lac Ste. Anne County.
At 8:15 p.m., the warning for the M.D. of Greenview was no longer in effect and at 8:22 p.m., the warning for Lac Ste. Anne County was lifted.
By 8:45 p.m., all severe thunderstorm warnings that had issued earlier in the evening were no longer in effect.
On Monday afternoon, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for parts of northern Alberta.
The weather agency issued the warnings to parts of Athabasca County and the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River shortly after 3:30 p.m.

“This severe thunderstorm is located 15 kilometres east of Flatbush and is moving southeast at 50 km/h,” Environment Canada said.
Those warnings were lifted shortly before 5 p.m.
Parts of central and northern Alberta, including the Edmonton region, were under a severe thunderstorm watch late Monday afternoon. By 9:30 p.m., all severe thunderstorm watches across the province had been lifted.
