In health news, a new study from the Institute of Medicine suggests that cutting too much salt from your diet may do more harm than good.

The study comes just days after Ottawa voted down a bill for mandatory regulations on sodium reduction. Despite the politics, both sides say North Americans are consuming too much salt. Elaine Yong takes a look at how much you may be putting in your shopping carts.
