Hundred firefighters battle 4-alarm blaze in Montreal North

MONTREAL – Firefighters battled a four-alarm fire that spread from a bar to adjacent condos in Montreal North Wednesday.

At least a hundred firefighters were on the scene after the blaze broke out around 12:45 p.m. on the main floor of a bar on Henri-Bourrassa Boulevard East.

Thick clouds of black smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

The three-storey building, which included a bar, basement piano bar and apartments being renovated on the two top floors, was evacuated.

There were no injuries reported.
