On Wednesday, Montreal police spokesperson Véronique Dubuc said a witness contacted emergency services after a man was heard calling out for help and saying he was being shot at.
However, on Thursday morning, police said no gunshots were actually fired. Instead, two teenage male suspects reportedly threw “projectiles” at the alleged victim, according to police.

Officers dispatched to the scene on Wednesday were unable to locate the alleged victim in the vicinity, but police say they found bullet holes in a vehicle.
According to Dubuc, the alleged victim then showed up at a local police station sometime before 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police said Thursday that the alleged victim was not injured but added that the suspects could be facing charges of assault.
Police also said the suspects and the alleged victim appear to know each other.
The two suspects, who are also known to police, are expected to appear in court later on Thursday.
