Over a breakfast meeting with France’s new Socialist president, Prime Minister Stephen Harper says he stressed the need for firm action to contain Europe’s spiralling debt crisis. Harper met President Francois Hollande this morning at the Elysee Palace in Paris. The prime minister says the problem is the European Union and eurozone lack the strong institutional structures that normally go with a monetary union.
