Collection was temporarily moved to front streets first due to snow in the lanes and then thawing making the lanes impassable.

The switch is estimated to have saved the city $125,000 by avoiding truck damage, towing costs and staff downtime.

It was also estimated that $600,000 in damage would have been created to back lanes had the switch to front streets had not been made.
