Ontario Provincial Police say officers have located several deceased kittens after they reportedly fell from a vehicle travelling on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) on Friday.
Earlier in the morning, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said police believed the kittens were being thrown from a vehicle on the Toronto-bound QEW, but later determined that was not the case.
Police were searching for a vehicle that was reportedly exiting at Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls.

Police then released a description of the suspect car but after finding the vehicle and speaking to the driver, learned that the kittens were likely hiding in the engine of the car and the driver was unaware.
A police spokesperson told Global News that the driver lives on a farm with a lot of cats and the driver did not realize kittens were falling from the vehicle.
Police said the driver is not facing any charges.
