One of the top country acts of all-time is coming to Regina.
Garth Brooks will be playing Mosaic Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 10, the only Canadian stop on his North American ‘Garth Brooks Stadium Tour‘.
“This is why we built the stadium, to have events like this, world-class events like Garth Brooks,” said Regina Mayor Michael Fougere.
This will be Brooks’ first time playing in Regina as a headline artist, and the first country concert at the stadium.
Tickets for the concert, priced at $94.95 including all fees, go on sale June 7 at 10 a.m. CT. at Ticketmaster.
There is an eight-ticket limit and no advance sales.
The mayor says the stadium diversifies Regina’s and Saskatchewan’s ability to welcome entertainment.
“It puts us on the map as being a destination for entertainment, for sport, and for all sorts of activities.”
Tim Reid, Evraz Place’s president and CEO, echoes the sentiment, adding “he’s only stopping at some of the best stadiums in North America and Mosaic Stadium is on that list.”
“We do have the best stadium in Canada to have a party at,” he said.
Brooks’ wife Trisha Yearwood tends to make an appearance during his tours, and Reid said seeing the Cooking Channel host is not out of the question.
“They are one heck of a couple, and they seem to travel and spend a lot of time on the road together,” he said. “I think if the fans respond really well and talk about how excited we are to have him, you never know what we’ll get.”
Brooks was last in Saskatchewan in June 2016 when he played six sold-out shows in Saskatoon.
Fougere said he believes Regina is open to the beloved country singer adding more dates in Regina if the desire is there.
