The crash happened in the southbound lanes of Crowchild Trail at Memorial Drive N.W. at around 7 p.m.

In a Friday news release, the Calgary Police Service (CPS) said it’s believed the driver failed to negotiate a turn, striking a trailer-mounted traffic control device.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition, according to police.

Southbound Crowchild Trail was shut down at Kensignton Road N.W. while officers investigated.

Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service Traffic Section at 403-567-4000, the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234, or to contact Crime Stoppers.
