UPDATE: SkyTrain will resume normal service this morning. The power rail problem has been fixed.

Repairs to a section of power rail between 22nd Street Station and New Westminster Station are expected to take the rest of Thursday night to complete.

A broken power rail near New Westminster Station cut service between Edmonds and Columbia Station just after 5 p.m. and TransLink needs the night to fix it.

Some service is still travelling between Waterfront and Edmonds, and between Columbia and VCC-Clark. Service between Edmonds and Columbia is being bridged by additional bus service.

While TransLink works to repair the broken power rail and restore service, riders trying to get downtown for tonight’s Canucks game are encouraged to take alternate routes or plan around the service outages. Riders can board a Millennium Line SkyTrain at Columbia Station toward Commercial-Broadway Station, and then switch to another train to get to Stadium-Chinatown. Another option is boarding a SkyTrain at Edmonds Station and riding to Stadium-Chinatown.

Riders looking to get into Surrey can also jump on the Millenium Line at Commercial-Broadway and ride the train the long way around.
