Winnipeg police say they’ve caught the firebugs behind a blaze earlier this month at Canad Inns Stadium.

The fire on the evening of Apr 2nd consumed a work shed, and destroyed about $300,000 worth of goods including the temporary flooring used when the stadium is turned into a concert venue. No one was hurt but the blaze sent a huge pall of black smoke into the sky above Polo Park.

Officers suggested at the time that the fire was suspicious; on Wednesday the police announced charges against two 16-year-old boys, two 17-year-old boys, and a 16-year-old girl.

All five are charged with one count of arson and have been released pending a future court appearance.
