A 23-year-old Hamilton woman is facing several charges after she allegedly tried to steal groceries.

Police were called to a grocery store in the Kenora Avenue and Delawana Drive area around 2 p.m. on Monday, after security stopped a woman who was allegedly trying to steal about $500 worth of groceries.

Police say the suspect is bound by two court orders and was wanted in another jurisdiction on several theft-related charges.

The accused will appear in court on Tuesday and then handed over to the other police service upon her release.
