Hamilton’s mayor is showing support for New Zealanders.
Fred Eisenberger called the terror attack against the Muslim community in New Zealand “deplorable” in a post on Twitter.
“We need unity not division! Love not hate! Inclusion not tolerance!” he wrote.
He added that, as a sign of support for New Zealand and the local Muslim community, “the Hamilton sign (at city hall) will be dimly lit in New Zealand’s flag colours” Friday night and Saturday.
Hamilton police are also on “heightened awareness” at local places of worship.
