Three people have been arrested in Quinte West for their alleged involvement in a drug-running operation.
On March 13, around 10 p.m., OPP officers with the organized crime enforcement bureau, community street crime unit and emergency response team conducted a search warrant at a Quinte West home. Police say they were targeting the sale and distribution of illicit drugs into the community.
During the search warrant, OPP say they seized cocaine, heroin, hydromorphone, bulk Canadian currency and stolen property. In total, the items seized had a value of more than $85,000.
Police arrested Michael William Mitchell, 26, Lorie Lee Mitchell, 56, and Mitch Mitchell, 28, all of Quinte West. All three were jointly charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of hydromorphone, possession of heroin and two counts of possession of property over $5,000.
All three were held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on March 14.
