Quebec provincial police arrest man in connection with sexual assaults in Repentigny

Quebec provincial police have arrested a man suspected of committing crimes of a sexual nature in Repentigny.

Quebec provincial police have arrested a 24-year-old Laval man in connection with a series of sexual assaults in Repentigny, east of the Island of Montreal.

The man was arrested Tuesday morning in L’Assomption and is expected to appear in a Joliette court in the afternoon.

Police allege that the suspect has been committing acts of sexual assault in the area since December 2018.

Quebec provincial police believe the suspect in a string of sexual assaults in Repentigny drove a black Acura ILX.

The Sûreté du Québec explains that the man waited for his victims between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. at a bus stop on Iberville Boulevard in a black Acura ILX.

Residents who live in the area say they’re shocked, as it’s known to be a quiet neighbourhood.

“It’s really out of the pale, but then again, I guess it’s the kind of world we’re living in nowadays,” said resident Carle Bacha.
