Police in Merritt are hoping dashcam video will help find missing cowboy Ben Tyner.
On Thursday, RCMP in the B.C. Interior community announced they are still continuing their investigation into Tyner’s disappearance. The 32-year-old rancher was last seen on January 26. His riderless horse was found two days later on a logging road off Highway 97 near Winnie Flats.
After being reported missing on Jan. 28, searches for Tyner were conducted. The searches included patrols on foot, by horseback, snowmobiles, utility vehicles and helicopter.
Police say Tyner was not located, but are hoping that dashcam video may lead to his discovery.
“The investigation continues to be a priority for the Merritt RCMP and the Southeast District Major Crime Unit,” said Merritt RCMP Staff Sgt. Lorne Wood.
“Investigators are now asking anyone who was in Merritt on the weekend of January 26 to 27, 2019, and has dashcam or other video footage, to please contact the tip line at 1-877-987-8477.”
