Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man in north Edmonton’s Clareview area.
Emergency crews were called to a townhouse complex on 38 Street near 135 Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, after reports of shots being fired.
Officers arrived to find a man dead inside a home. The parking lot at the Clareview Place complex in the Belmont neighbourhood could be seen blocked off with police tape.
Police said no suspect or vehicle descriptions were being released on Tuesday morning.
Edmonton police said the victim is known to investigators. However, the EPS has decided not to release his name, saying “it does not serve an investigative purpose, at this time.”
An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday morning.
No other details on the suspicious death have been released.
