Part of the roof of a Metro Plus grocery store in Terrebonne, north of the island of Montreal, collapsed due to accumulated snow and ice.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday at the Moody Boulevard location.

There were about half a dozen employees inside the store at the time. Officials say all were able to evacuate the building safely and there were no customers in the store at the time.

Firefighters say a four-inch water pipe under the roof burst in the collapse, causing major damage throughout the store.

They estimate there to be about five inches of water in the basement.

The store will be closed indefinitely for repairs.
