SASKATOON – A young girl spoke at a Saskatoon school while on a Canadian tour to share her story on preventing a life-altering injury with No Regrets.
On Friday, 13-year-old Krystle Shewchuck shared her story of preventable injury with students at E.D. Feehan Catholic High School as part of the No Regrets Live.
No Regrets Live is a presentation designed to arm high school students with the knowledge to prevent injuries with smart thinking.
While on her way home one day from the beach, Shewchuk’s life changed when the car she was in was hit from behind, spinning it into oncoming traffic.

The car was hit a second time which left her paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair.
A number of factors contributed to the crash including incorrect seatbelt use and the driver of the car behind them talking on a cellphone.
The presenters talked about how injury can affect lives, while presenting positive choices to reduce the risk of injury while enjoying life to the fullest.
The show includes a video full of young people and famous Canadians, whose lives were altered by injury, including Justin Trudeau and George Stroumboulopoulos.
