Highway 13 North in Laval has reopened after a tanker truck flipped on its side early Wednesday afternoon and closed the highway for several hours.
The truck was transporting vegetable oil.
Laval police spokesperson Evelyne Boudreau said the accident happened around 12:33 p.m. on Wednesday.
The driver was found unconscious at the scene. He, along with a second person, have been taken to hospital.
“His injuries were not life-threatening,” said Stéphane Tremblay, spokesperson for Quebec provincial police.
“He’s being treated for shock.”
Tremblay added that just one truck was involved in the accident.
It broke apart, which is why some reports are saying multiple vehicles were implicated.
The last accessible exit for drivers was Samson Boulevard.
Cars were being detoured to the A-440 service road, Jean-Noël-Lavoie.
