A watermain break in the northwest Calgary community of Collingwood made for an icy mess early Wednesday morning.
Calgary fire said crews were called to the 3200-block of 15 Street N.W. at around 3:30 a.m. for a report of watermain break.
When crews arrived, fire said residents were seen trying to dam and divert water flowing downhill from a broken watermain.
A home at the bottom of the hill suffered some basement flooding as a result of the break, fire said.
