Calgary emergency crews were called to a water main break at a southeast business on Wednesday.

Firefighters arrived at a multi-storey building in the 6900 block of 6 Street S.E. at around 3:30 a.m. to find water gushing out of an exterior pipe and into a parking lot.

As the issue came from an exterior water line the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) said no water leaked inside the business and it’s not believed any damage was caused inside the building.

The CFD said City of Calgary sanders will likely be sent to the parking lot due to the large amount of water that spilled during the leak and froze, causing slippery conditions.
