Paralyzed groom gets help from dad, brother to stand for 1st dance with bride

A man paralyzed in a motorcycle accident five years ago and in a wheelchair ever since, was able to stand and slow dance with his wife thanks to a little help from the man’s father and brother.

Brazilian bride and groom Hugo Rohling and Cynthia Zanuni had just begun their slow dance when Rohling’s family members joined the two newlyweds on the dancefloor.

Emotional video shows the groom’s father and brother taking a seat on either side of Rohling, before the man throws his arms around his family members. With a little help, the three men stand as the chairs are pulled out from under them. Another family member holds Rohling’s chest from behind.

Zanuni joined her standing husband as the group swayed to the music, and friends and family cheered the couple on.

The video was posted on social media, where it’s been viewed over 16 million times.

“I had the pleasure of participating in this incredible wedding of my friends and I will share with you this video that shows what love is able,” a friend wrote, along with the video.

The video also captured the attention of late-show hosts James Corden and Trevor Noah.

“Oh my god. This is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen today,” Corden tweeted.
