TORONTO – U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle joined a crowd at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston for a service honouring the dead and wounded from the Boston Marathon bombing.
Obama says Americans everywhere are feeling Boston’s pain and their country is with them.
The White House says Obama is planning to meet with some of the injured, and with the first-responders who helped the runners and spectators after the explosions.

Obama said a day of beauty was shattered when a celebration became a tragedy.
He said Boston gathered Tuesday, quote, “to reaffirm that the spirit of this city is undaunted.”
