Vancouver police investigating after dozens of trees vandalized at Langara Golf Course

WATCH:Vancouver Police are investigating after up to 50 juvenile trees were topped at Langara Golf Course in a massacre that the Park Board says will require the sequoia, cedar, fir and alders to be replaced.


Vancouver police are investigating after close to 50 juvenile trees at Langara Golf Course were vandalized.

Over the past four weeks, someone sawed the tops off of several different trees at the course.

The park board says the trees offer protection from stray golf balls as well as shade and habitat for birds and other animals.

The trees are unlikely to recover from the damage and will have to be replaced.

Earlier this month, someone also chopped the tops off of eight trees at Spanish Banks.
