CALGARY – The driver of a vehicle involved in a crash on Deerfoot Trail last week has succumbed to his injuries.
Firefighters were forced to cut the man out of his vehicle, after it skidded along the off-ramp from northbound Deerfoot Trail onto westbound Memorial Drive, colliding with a concrete embankment.
Officials say the victim’s car was heavily damaged in the crash.
The driver, a 26-year-old man, was not conscious when he was removed from his vehicle.
Police say he died several hours later.
Calgary police are investigating speed and alcohol as possible factors in the collision.
