CALGARY – A former psychiatrist convicted of sexually assaulting three of his patients will face a second trial.
Dr. Aubrey Levin was convicted of sexually assaulting three of his court-appointed patients in late January, however the jury was unable to reach a verdict on four other assaults charges.
On Friday, one of the outstanding charges against Levin was dropped, while he learned the Crown will proceed with three others.
He has already been sentenced to five years in jail for his previous three sexual assault convictions, but is appealing those convictions.
The 74-year-old’s new trial will begin in March, and is expected to last eight weeks.
Levin remains out on bail.
