Police said they received a call just before 8 a.m. Friday of a body found in the area of Truscott Drive and Southdown Road.
Authorities said the boy did not attend nearby Elementary School Horizon Jeunesse.
“I can confirm the boy did not attend the school. There’s no ties to the school right now,” Const. Iryna Yashnyk said.
Police had initially said the boy was 13 but later said that he was in fact 14.
Police said their forensics team is on scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
Peel Regional Police say a 14-year-old boy found dead in a Mississauga Park had “visible signs of trauma.”
The homicide squad has taken over the investigation.
