MONTREAL — Montreal police are looking for a man in his 20s after he got into a fight with a taxi driver who hit his friends early Sunday.
The taxi was turning left onto Papineau Ave. from Ste. Catherine St. around 1:45 a.m. when three men suddenly ran into the intersection, said Montreal police spokesperson Simon Delorme. The taxi hit two of them, and the third then started a fight with the driver, Delorme said. The driver was hit and his vehicle was vandalized.
All three men, who are in their 20s, were “very drunk,” he added. One of the men hit by the taxi was taken to a hospital though he did not appear to have any injuries. “We didn’t want to take any chances,” Delorme said. The other man who was hit walked home. Police are looking for the third man.
