Sunday morning crash claims life of Oliver man

The Oliver Fire Department confirms one man is dead after a brutal single vehicle car accident south of Oliver at 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Spokesperson Rob Graham said crews worked to extricate the driver from the vehicle after it crashed near Highway 97 and Road 16. He said the single occupant of the vehicle was declared deceased at the scene.

“Scene examination indicated that a black 2017 Nissan Sentra was southbound on Highway 97 and had the left the roadway,” Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said.

The driver was a 28-year-old man from Oliver, according to police.

“The Oliver RCMP and BC Coroners Services continue to investigate the cause of the collision and the man’s death,” Moskaluk said.
