A third woman has come forward accusing U.S. President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.
The lawyer for Washington, D.C. resident Julie Swetnick said on Wednesday he had submitted her sworn statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Lawyer Michael Avenatti identified his client on Twitter and posted an email to the committee. He said he had a sworn declaration from Swetnick outlining her allegations against Kavanaugh involving incidents that occurred in the 1980s.
In the sworn affidavit posted by Avenatti, Swetnick says she was a victim of a “‘gang’ or ‘train’” rape and Kavanaugh was present. The incident occurred in Washington, D.C., around the year 1982.
“During the incident, I was incapacitated without my consent and unable to fight off the boys raping me,” she wrote.
“I believe I was drugged using Quaaludes or something similar placed in what I was drinking.”

Swetnick said she first met Kavanaugh in 1980 or 1981. She alleged Kavanaugh and his friends “spiked” the drinks of girls at house parties.

“I have firm recollection of seeing boys lined up outside rooms at many of these parties waiting for their ‘turn’ with a girl inside the room,” he said. “These boys included Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh.”
Avenatti declined to expand on the allegation in an interview Wednesday on ABC’s “The View,” saying he would not add detail beyond what was in the statement. The lawyer also represents Stormy Daniels, an adult film actress who alleges she was paid to keep a sexual relationship with Trump quiet.
Kavanaugh has denied allegations made by Swetnick.

“This is ridiculous and from the Twilight Zone,” he said. “I don’t know who this is and this never happened.”
The Supreme Court nominee has also denied previous allegations. He told Fox News earlier this week: “I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone.”
While Trump did not address Swetnick’s allegations directly, he did take aim at Avenatti in a tweet Wednesday afternoon.
“Avenatti is a third rate lawyer who is good at making false accusations, like he did on me and like he is now doing on Judge Brett Kavanaugh,” the president tweeted.
“He is just looking for attention and doesn’t want people to look at his past record and relationships — a total low-life!”

Kavanaugh has been accused of sexual misconduct by two other women, putting his nomination for the high court at risk. He and one of the accusers, Christine Blasey Ford, will testify publicly Thursday before the Judiciary Committee.
U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley said Wednesday that they are investigating the claims, but Thursday’s hearing will go as planned.
A vote on Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination will be held Friday.
However, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has called on the process to be halted.
“I strongly believe Judge Kavanaugh should withdraw from consideration,” Schumer said in a tweet Wednesday.
“If he will not, at the very least, the hearing and the vote should be postponed while the FBI investigates all of these allegations.”
